Firstly, I'd like to state that my plans for a kicka$$ computer were thwarted by the optometrist I had to deal with (bleeping hell, she delayed until we payed her right away before she sent the letter saying I could get the comp, and guess what, she sent it just in time for me to get pwned by having a huge budget cap placed on me). My new computer has some pretty average specs; not much in the way of being better than a high end desktop... (I did get a great graphics card though so that should last for gaming for the next year or two).
Also in regards to the two ancient computers I now own one is an AMD K6 running at 233MHz with 32MB RAM and the other is a Intel Pentium II running at 400MHz with 128MB RAM. I've not screwed with the OS on the P2 (because I haven't been able to, the comp won't boot without a keyboard and I only have a KB with an AT style 5 pin DIN connector not the newer PS/2 style 6 pin Mini-DIN connector) but I believe it is running either Windows 98 or Windows 95. The K6 on the other hand is currently running FreeDOS v1.0 (soon to be upgraded to v1.1, because the FreeDOS developers are coming out with the new version some time within the next quarter of this year), it runs perfectly and it is very co-operative (and it plays DOOM without much lag).
Oh and in other news a friend of mine gave me a DVD of GTA:SA (w00t now I don't have to torrent it) and I've found it is a fun game (just like GTA:VC which I've played on the PS2). I've progressed to Las Venturas (and I did so in a week). My current favourite weapon is the M61 minigun and my favourite vehicle is the Andromeda (if you don't what the Andromeda is it is the airplane from the last Mike Toreno mission you normally can't find it in game or spawn it with cheats, but I managed to mod the game such that it spawns one in the LV, LS and SF airports). Do any of my journal readers play GTA, I'd be interested in knowing.
I'm reading Startide Rising again (for I believe the twelfth time) because I decided to read through the Uplift saga once more (I've only read through the entire series of books once). I'm also watching the entire series of Star Trek movies again (though I might skip V because... well to put it lightly my reaction to seeing the box after I watched it was: "Oh God! Oh Jesus! Oh Jesus God! Oh Mary mother of Jesus! Oh please God! Oh God! NOOOO!").

My tip for art and fiction writing
Always carry some way to write or sketch an idea, because you never know when you'll get a sudden inspiration.
